A sunny landscape with

Another picture finished.. Tried to capture the stripes of colour in the scene and the sunlight.

I've got a few landscape paintings on the go all at once.   Trying to keep a quick, fresh approach to the painting style.  Hoping to get out and about this weekend to get some more inspiration from the local landscape on sunny, still wintery days.

Using impasto with oils

Just finished then latest oil, using liquin impasto to add some depth to the picture.  It keeps the brush and palette knife marks visible and works well in depicting clotted cream!  Here it is step by step..

Another picture nearly finished, another one sold...

The latest oil painting is nearly finished, needs just a little bit more work...need another person who wants a cute cat picture to hang on their wall!

And the muse meanwhile is fast asleep!

My focus of late has been the many funny animals around the site at Beamish...been doing sketches and will soon be moving on to little ink prints.

Printing is a lot of fun!  Although the pit village cat nearly walked right through the ink tray...

Dark nights are drawing in, time for painting!

Finally got a bit more time to settle at my painting desk now that the nights are getting darker...
