Welcome to the blog!

Well this is that start of an online record of my artwork as it progresses, from inspiration to easel and hopefully exhibition! 

I am currently working on an oil painting of the walled garden at Pockerley Old Hall at Beamish Museum taken back in the summer when everything was in full bloom - a nice thought in the midst of an icy winter!

I have also been doing some sketching over Christmas in preparation for landscape paintings of frozen scenes, such as the following view of the Leeds Liverpool canal taken whilst at home visiting family.

The contrast of strong winter sun on snow against dark shadows in this picture should make a dramatic painting!
